WHAC Sweeps Men's Volleyball National Player of the Week Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ernest Broaster of Cornerstone (Mich.) has been named the NAIA Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Akram Askoul from Lawrence Tech (Mich.) has been named the NAIA Men's Volleyball Defender of the Week and Patrick Voloch of Cornerstone (Mich.) has been named the NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week. The trio was selected based on their performances from February 12 - 18 and were chosen out of a pool of conference nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Ernest Broaster, Cornerstone (Mich.) - JR - Outside Hitter
- Averaged 5.67 kills per-set in a 3-0 week for the Golden Eagles.
- Had a season high 20 kills in a win over Campbellsville (Ky.) while hitting .420.
- Totaled 51 kills on 88 attempts.
- Recorded six total blocks and seven digs as well.
NAIA Men's Volleyball Defender of the Week
Akram Askoul, Lawrence Tech - SO - Middle Blocker
- Spearheaded LTU's defense in comeback against nationally-ranked Lourdes (Ohio) - their first win a over top-15 team when trailing by two sets.
- Had a match-high eight total blocks, including two during LTU's decisive 5-point run that broke an 8-all tie in the fifth set.
- Then he had nine kills (.444) and five blocks to help LTU beat Indiana Tech for the first time in school history and downing nationally-ranked opponents on consecutive days for another program first.
NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week
Patrick Voloch, Cornerstone (Mich.) - JR - Setter
- Recorded 100 assists for the week at a 11.11 assists per-set.
- Helped the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 week, sweeping all three opponents.
- Also recorded 16 total digs and six blocks along the way.
