Ayala, Fonda and Bianco Named Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC Sports Information Directors have selected Eduardo Ayala (Lourdes) as the Attacker of the Week,  Jon Fonda (Indiana Tech) as the Defender of the Week and Joey Bianco (Lourdes) as the Setter of the Week. Ayala had a huge week hitting .400 or higher in all three wins for the Gray Wolves. He hit .789 with 15 kills against Aquinas and added 33 kills against Cornerstone, setting a new school single match record. Fonda was stellar in defense from his middle blocker position, posting 13 blocks in two WHAC wins. Bianco ran a Lourdes offense that hit .405 on the week. He handed out more than 11.3 assists per set in the three wins.
