#5 Lawrence Tech Wins 2024 WHAC Men's Volleyball Tournament

SYLVANIA, Ohio - (Box Score) For the first time in conference history, Lawrence Tech has claimed a Men's Volleyball Tournament championship. The fifth-seeded Blue Devils knocked off defending tournament champion and No.3 seed Indiana Tech 3-1 inside the Ebeid Recreation Center on the campus of Lourdes University on Saturday evening. Indiana Tech won the first set 25-21, but Lawrence Tech came rallying back to win the next three to claim the title and punch their first-ever ticket to the NAIA National Championships. 

The Blue Devils were led by a stellar day from Brendon Down who hammered home 25 kills while hitting .321. Down also added 13 digs and four blocks to lead LTU. JT McCarthy added 12 kills on .450 hitting while Gustavo Machado and Mario Cid each chipped in nine. Nathaniel Brownlee led the team in digs and also added 52 assists. 

For Indiana Tech, Daynte Stewart poured in an efficient 23 kills on .438 hitting followed by Dante Siracusa with 13 and Mason Milan with nine. Armaan Dosanjh had 42 assists and Mario Capo led the Warriors with 11 digs.

This marks the first time a non-one seed has won the tournament and the first time someone other than Lourdes or Indiana Tech has won the title in the WHAC's five years of hosting a Men's Volleyball tournament.
