Indiana Tech and Madonna to Play in NAIA Softball Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - Indiana Tech and Madonna learned their match-ups when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 40-team field and pairings for the 2023 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round. The 10th annual event takes place May 15-17 at 10 host sites. Each of the 10 locations features a four-team, double-elimination tournament. The winners of each bracket advance to the 2023 NAIA Softball World Series May 25-31 at South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga.

WHAC champion Indiana Tech was assigned to the Lawrenceville Bracket in Georgia. The Warriors are seeded third along with top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett, second-seeded Coastal Georgia, and fourth-seeded Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.). Tech faces Coastal Georgia in the first game at noon on May 15.

WHAC Tournament champion Madonna landed in the Williamsburg Bracket in Kentucky. The Crusaders sit as the third seed and join top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.), second-seeded Indiana Wesleyan, and fourth-seeded USC Beaufort (S.C.). Madonna plays Indiana Wesleyan in the first game at 1 p.m. on May 15.
