McAlinden and Bravo Win Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Softball Players of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

WHAC SID's have selected Savannah Bravo (Indiana Tech) as the Pitcher of the Week and Shannon McAlinden (Concordia) as the Player of the Week. Bravo tossed three complete games with two shutouts to go 3-0 on the week. The sophomore struck out 14, walked just two and surrendered seven hits in her big week. This is the second consecutive Pitcher of the Week award for Bravo. McAlinden had a big week offensively in the 11-game stint for Concordia. She slashed .429/.478/.667 to help the team to seven wins. Her week included 17 hits, eight doubles, a triple and nine RBI.
