Schlaud and Ankney Earn Player of the Week Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Softball Players of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's. 

WHAC SID's have selected Maeson Schlaud (Madonna) as the Pitcher of the Week and Anna Ankney (UNOH) as the Player of the Week. Schlaud was dominant once again, going nine scoreless innings in a DH against Lawrence Tech. She threw a complete game shutout, striking out 10 and allowing just three hits and now walks. In the other game, she pitches two innings allowing no runs on no hits with no walks striking out three. This is her third Pitcher of the Week award this season. UNOH's Anna Ankney helped the Racers to a perfect 6-0 week and had four multi-hit games in the process. She finished the week with 10 runs scored, 11 hits, three doubles, a home run and five RBI. This is her first Player of the Week honor this season.
