UM-Dearborn Athletics Tabs Dave Arnold as Next Golf Coach

DEARBORN, Mich. – University of Michigan-Dearborn Director of Athletics and Recreation Bryan Earl announced a new leader of the men's and women's golf programs following the retirement of Howard Inch. Earl tabbed long-time high-school coach Dave Arnold as the new Head Men's and Women's golf coach, the school announced on Friday (Feb. 23). 

"We are very excited to have Dave as our head men's and women's golf coach," said Earl. "His ability to teach the game of golf and promote academic excellence will greatly benefit our golf student-athletes.  We are extremely thankful to Coach Inch for building a solid foundation for the men's and women's golf programs and look forward to both programs continuing to prosper under the leadership of Coach Arnold."

Arnold is familiar with the golf programs, previously serving as an assistant coach under Howard Inch. Before his tenure with the Wolverines, Arnold coached high school golf at Dearborn High School, Cabrini High School, and Father Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor. Dave has enriched himself in the golf community. He currently serves as the First Assistant Professional at Dearborn Country Club, with stops at Polo Fields Golf and Country Club, Washtenaw Golf Club, and West Shore Golf and Country Club. 

Arnold's experience also comes from his playing background, competing in USGA, Michigan PGA, and Golf Association of Michigan Events. Dave's love for coaching extends to the basketball courts, and he is currently one of the longest-tenured high school basketball coaches in the state of Michigan, with 35 years of experience as a varsity head coach.
