UNOH Wins 2024 Women's Golf Championship

AUGUSTA, Mich. - (Complete Results) For the sixth-straight season, UNOH women's golf has claimed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship. The Racers led by 25 strokes after 36 holes on Monday and extended that lead to 40 strokes to claim the WHAC title after the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Lawrence Tech finished as the tournament runners-up with a +73. Siena Heights finished third at +136. Cleary and Aquinas rounded out the top five. 

Sharifah Binyahya took home tournament medalist honors with a +7 221 (73,72,71). Binyahya improved on her second place finish from a season ago and improved her score by six strokes. Teammate Ebba Nordin finished in second place at seven over, but she fired the round of the tournament on Tuesday with a three-under 69. Lawrence Tech's Tanawan Vetchayanvivat placed third at nine over, UNOH's Primross Chikwaya was fourth at ten over and Lawrence Tech's Alix Schickele and UNOH's Rafaella Brigante rounded out the top five tied for fith at 13 over. 

Another highlight from the tournament came when UM-Dearborn's Kristen Guobis hit a hole in one on the par 3 13th. The hole-in-one was the first in program history for UM-Dearborn. 

With the win, UNOH earns the WHAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Golf Championship played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. on May 14-17.
