Cornerstone's Run Comes to an End at NAIA Women's Tennis Nationals

MOBILE, Ala. - (Box Score) - Cornerstone's historic season came to a close at the 2023 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship being held at the Mobile Tennis Center. The 21 seed in the tournament, Golden Eagles fell 4-0 to 12-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). Cornerstone's season ends with a 10-3 record and its name in the history books for the first Golden Eagle team to play in the national tournament. 

Ximena Matamoros and Sarah Daza posted the lone win for the Golden Eagles as the duo won the No. 1 Doubles match against Parisa Rachdanone and Anastasilia Ivanchenko 6-1. LWC captured the next two doubles matches for the first point. 

Lindsey Wilson captured three of the singles matches to seal the victory, leaving three matches unfinished. Sophie Smith fell 6-2, 6-2 to Reshma Challarapu at the No. 1 Singles and Slayna Bowman lost to Salome Sposetti in the No. 3 spot. The final point for LWC came when Isabella Herrera fell to Hey,a Rodriguez 6-2, 6-4.
