Indiana Tech Three-Peats as NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Champions

BROOKINGS, S.D. - (NAIA Release) - Indiana Tech won its third consecutive, and fourth overall, NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships at Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, hosted by Dakota State (S.D.).. The Warriors earned 85 points, besting second-place Huntington's (Ind.) 64 points.

Five Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) teams finished in the top 30 of the event. Siena Heights scored 23 points to tie for 10th place and Aquinas was 13th with 18 points. Cornerstone tied for 19th with 14 points and Madonna finished with 11 points and tied for 28th place.

In addition to the team national championship, Indiana Tech had two individual national champions: Lisa Voyles successfully defended her 1000 meter title and Jaunita Webster-Freeman won the pentathlon. In all, the WHAC had 46 All-American honors including relay teams.

Warrior head coach Doug Edgar picked up his fourth Coach of the Year honor and Webster-Freeman was named the meet's Outstanding Performer after setting the national championship meet record of 4,258 points in the pentathlon.
