Teams Gear Up for WHAC Women's Outdoor Championship

ADRIAN, Mich. - (LIVE RESULTS) - The 2023 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 4-5  features some of the top talent in the NAIA. Hosted by Siena Heights at O'Laughlin Stadium, the meet will see performances from 16 individuals and three relay teams ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA in their various events. 

The pole vault looks to be the most anticipated as five WHAC athletes are ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA. Siena Heights holds the first three places in Tyler Fugate, Erica Albrecht, and Margherita Conrad. Ashley VerPlank of Cornerstone is ranked fourth and SHU's Chastiy Miles is ninth.

Three other events feature two top performers in each. The 800 meters boasts top-ranked Lisa Voyles of Indiana Tech and fifth-ranked Maggie Whitney of Aquinas. Kaylee Diamond of Aquinas and Emma Valentine of Siena Heights are tied for ninth in the high jump and the long jump sees Carlie Turner of Indiana Tech, tied for sixth, and ninth-ranked Morgan Vargo of Cornerstone.

Indiana Tech has won the last four WHAC championships, setting a record last year for most points scored with 286.
