Indiana Tech Wins 2024 WHAC Tournament Championship

DEARBORN, Mich. - (Box Score, Tournament Page)Top-seeded Indiana Tech defeated No. 2 seed Lawrence Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon on the campus of UM-Dearborn. The Warriors add a tournament championship on top of their regular season crown and pick up their third tournament championship in the last four seasons. 

Lawrence Tech scored the first goal of the game when David Hoftiezer found the net off a Liam Bland assist less than two minutes into the first period. The lead would not hold for long as Indiana Tech scored the next three goals to take the lead and never look back. The Warriors scored two in the first and two in the second while Lawrence Tech added a goal early in the second to round out the scoring. The third period saw defense reign supreme as it was the only scoreless period of the championship contest. 

Ty Barnhill played all 60 minutes in net for Indiana Tech, making 25 saves. Brett Tome made 26 saves for the Blue Devils.
