Indiana Tech Claims Women's Basketball Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Tech repeated as women's basketball champions after posting an 18-2 league record to win the 2023 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Basketball Championship. It's the fifth overall title for the Warriors in the last six years as they finished 24-4 overall.

It came down to the final game as the Warriors held a one-game lead over Siena Heights. The Warriors' two setbacks were against Siena Heights on Nov. 9 and again on Feb. 1. SHU had three losses, but fell on the final day to tie for second place with Rochester, each with 16-4 WHAC records. In all, the final season standings saw three ties: 2nd place, Concordia and Cornerstone for 4th place, and Aquinas and Lourdes for 8th place.

Indiana Tech will be the top seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament starting Feb. 22 with higher seeds hosting throughout and gets the conference's first automatic berth to the NAIA Opening Round March 7-8 on campus sites.
