LTU to Play for Women's Lacrosse National Championship

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - (NAIA Release) - Top-seeded Lawrence Tech defeated No. 5 Reinhardt (Ga.) 17-11 in the semifinals of the 2022 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship Tournament to advance to the title game. The win sets up a rematch from last year's tournament with second-seeded Benedictine (Kan.). The game is set for Saturday, May 7 at 5 p.m.

LTU opend the first period with five goals and added another three before the half for a 8-4 lead. The Blue Devils put in four more goals in the third, but were matched by the Eagles to maintain a four-point lead. In the fourth period, Tech matched the first period's total of five goals while holding the Eagles to three.

Abby Barnewold scored four goals and added two assists for Tech while Hannah Huebner, Abbey Smentowski, Alaina Smythe, and Gabi Mitchell each had three. Bella Burke finished out the scoring as LTU improved to 18-0.
